The Rodman Public Library and the Branch Library will be closed Monday, September 5 in honor of Labor Day.
Some of Rodman Public Library’s most popular children’s programs are returning this fall, including Wee Read, Storytime and Family Fun Night.
In addition, the Kids Book Club, Kids Gaming and Kids Crafting will continue to be held monthly and there will be a couple other fun special events thrown in the mix during the months of September, October, and November.
This summer, the Bookmobile will make 19 weekly stops throughout the season, including the Alliance Farmers’ Market at the northeast corner of State Street and Union Avenue from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on most Saturdays between June 24 and August 19.
It will also appear at First Friday events in downtown Alliance, the Historic Main Street Art and Music Festival on July 15, the Greater Alliance Carnation Festival on August 12 and the Martin Luther King Jr. Parade on August 26.
Teens who want to help shape services and programs at Rodman Public Library are encouraged to join the Teen Advisory Board.
A meeting will be held in the Main Library conference room from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13 for teens, ages 12-18, who are interested in joining.
The winners of the Summer Writing Contest sponsored by the Teen Writing Club at Rodman Public Library have been determined.
A simple “hello” will earn two lucky area residents a new Apple iPad in August.
All area residents who visit the RPL table inside Miller Pavilion during the Greater Alliance Carnation Festival’s Days in the Park – Wednesday, August 10 through Saturday, August 13 -- will have the opportunity to enter a drawing for one of two new Apple iPads – one for those over 18 and one for those under 18.
Chipotle will host a dine-to-donate event for Friends of Rodman Public Library from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, August 22. Diners at the 1630 W. State St. location can help raise funds by presenting a flyer obtainable at Rodman Public Library or by telling their server they would like to support the Friends of Rodman Library. Those ordering online for pickup need to use the code V9KHFAH for the order to count towards donating 33 percent of the event sales to the cause. Delivery orders will not count toward the fundraiser.
