Rodman Public Library invites children, ages 8-12, to join the Kids Book Club, which will meet on the third Wednesday of each month. The fall selections include The 13-Story Treehouse by Andy Griffiths for Sept. 15, Malcolm at Midnight by W.H. Beck on Oct. 20, Sweeping Up the Heart by Kevin Henkes on Nov. 17 and OCDaniel by Wesley King on Dec. 15. Books are available for extended checkout at the Children's Department. Registration is required for each session.

Rodman Public Library's popular children's Halloween party will be held Saturday, Oct. 23, at 2:00 p.m. at the Main Library. Open to families with children of all ages, the fun will include stories, treats and games. A "photo booth" will be provided for parents to take pictures of their little ones, so don't forget to bring your phone or your camera. Costumes are not mandatory, but they are encouraged. Area children are invited to a family pumpkin painting event at the Rodman Branch Library on Oct. 16. Children can visit the Branch Library on that day between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. to pick out a pumpkin and paint it during the make and take activity. The library will provide the pumpkins, paint and other decorations for the kids to use. For more information, call 330-821-1313.
