Rodman Public Library has joined the SEO (Serving Every Ohioan) Library Consortium, which provides our library users with access to items from 97 library systems in 49 counties across Ohio.

Closed for Labor Day
The library will be closed Monday, September 7th in observance of Labor Day. The library will reopen Tuesday, September 8th.
"Take and Make" Craft Bags
Rodman Public Library will offer a variety of “take and make” craft bags for all ages during the month of May. These craft bags will include supplies to create the crafts as well as step-by-step instructions on how to create them.
One Book One Community - Christina Baker Kline Virtual Visit
Alliance One Book One Community is pleased to announce that the 2020 program, featuring the novel Orphan Train by Christina Baker Kline, will conclude with a virtual visit with the author. This event will take place on the evening of Thursday, October 1 at 7 p.m., and will be an opportunity to for readers to learn more about Kline and her New York Times best-selling novel Orphan Train.

Friends of the Library Chipotle Fundraiser
Make dinner a selfless act by joining us for a fundraiser to support the Friends of Rodman Public Library. Come in to the Chipotle at 1630 State St, Suite A, Alliance, on Monday August 10, from 4 to 8 p.m.
"Books and Coffee" Book Club
Rodman Public Library invites you to join our “Books and Coffee” Book Club. The next book club meeting will be on Thursday, July 22 at 10:30 a.m. at Rodman Branch Library. The selected title will be My Dear Hamilton by Stephanie Dray. Copies are available at the Main and Branch libraries, through the library’s catalog, or digitally through the Ohio Digital Library and Hoopla. For more information, call 330-821-1313.
Our Buildings Are Now Open
Rodman Main and Branch Libraries are now open for the following hours:
- Monday-Wednesday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Thursday & Friday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
2020 "Virtual" Summer Art Experience
Get ready for the 2020 “Summer Art Experience” from home! Starting Monday, June 22, children ages 6-13 will be able to view six art lessons via YouTube videos taught by local art instructors. Art supplies for the lessons will be provided free of charge while supplies last, but children are encouraged to participate by using their own supplies as well. Due to a power outage, Rodman Public Library is closed.
The Branch Library is still open, but there is no internet service, so WiFi and public computers will not be available.
Of course, even though our building is closed today, your library card is always at work.
The Alliance Vinyl Club will take on a bluesy vibe in April.
The group will welcome special guest J.J. Vicars when it gathers at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 5 at Rodman Public Library.
The guitar-slinger and singer is well known among Blues fans in and around the Carnation City, having built a following playing around the area for the last decade and winning the 2017 Northeast Ohio Blues Challenge.
Rodman Public Library’s monthly Kids Crafting program continues at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 6 when children, ages 6-12, are invited to come to the Main Library and decorate their own spring basket and maybe receive a treat to put inside.
All materials used during monthly kids crafting programs are provided for free thanks to the Friends of Rodman Public Library.
Registration is required.
Rodman Public Library and Hot Pots are teaming up for an Egg-Cellent storytime in April.
Two sessions are planned, including one on Wednesday, April 5 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., and another on Saturday, April 8 from 11 a.m. to noon.
