Three new monthly teen programs will make their debuts in September at Rodman Public Library, including Tabletop Gaming for Teens, Nintendo Café for Teens and the Teen Craft Club.
The inaugural Nintendo Café for Teens event will be held on Tuesday, September 15 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Teens, ages 12 to 18, can stop into the Rodman Auditorium anytime during the two-hour program for a sweet snack and to hang out with their friends while playing on the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 consoles provided by the library. Tees are also invited to bring in their own Nintendo device to play. Future Nintendo Café events are planned for October 27, November 24, and December 22. No registration is required.
A Teen Craft Club will be offered in the Library Makerspace on the fourth Monday of each month from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., beginning September 28. Teens, ages 12 to 18, can join in anytime during the two-hour period to craft and chat. Supplies for specific crafts will be provided each month, but teens are welcome to bring their own materials to work on a craft of their choosing. The program is free, but space is limited and registration is required via our online calendar at rodmanlibrary.com.
Teen Tabletop Gaming was held on September 1 and will continue on the first Tuesday of each month from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Exclusively for youth, ages 12 to 18, teens will enjoy playing card and board games with their friends and will be treated to snacks. Players are welcome to continue their games into the evening when the popular Tabletop Gaming, a monthly program for all ages, convenes from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The two programs will both be held back-to-back each month. The next Teen Tabletop Gaming will be Tuesday, October 6. No registration is required.
