James Sedoris is a member of the RPL Bookmobile staff who has been with the library for nearly 11 years.
Here's some things to know about James:
What is your favorite part about your job?
I love getting to know kids on the Bookmobile as they grow from preschoolers to fifth-graders, and helping them figure out what kinds of books they like along the way.
Who is your favorite author?
Mac Barnett is my favorite children’s book author.
What is your favorite food or snack?
I love popcorn. I even have a secret recipe that involves chili oil. Spicy!
What is your favorite color?
What was your favorite subject in school?
Language Arts, of course.
Who is your favorite actor?
I’m a big fan of Woody Harrelson, but I’m also a sucker for Nicolas Cage hamming it up.
Do you have any pets?
I have two cats, an elderly guinea pig, and three rabbits. I rescued one of the rabbits when he was lost and wound up at Rodman Library. His name is Big Moe.
What is something people would be surprised to know about you?
I’m something of a backpacker! I’ve been up and down some pretty cool places, including many parts of the Appalachian Trail.
If you could visit anywhere, where would it be?
I’d love to go back to Mount Katahdin, or see Machu Picchu.
Who was/is the biggest influence/hero in your life?
I owe a lot to so many people, but it is hard to imagine where I’d be today without my own children’s librarian, Louise (I still call her “Mrs.”) Rose
