Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Tournament 1/15:
For intense one-on-one, head-to-head competition, join us on Tuesday, January 15, from 3:00-5:00 p.m., in Rodman’s Main Auditorium for an exciting afternoon with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate that will be played on the Nintendo Switch™. The tournament will start promptly at 3:15 p.m. It will consist of double elimination, best two of three, three lives per match, random characters and random map. Each person gets to pick one map not to play. If either map gets chosen at random, simply hit the random button one more time. Prizes will be awarded to the top three finalists.
Upon completion of the tournament, participants may play other video and board games. Snacks and beverages will be available. The event is free and open to all teens, ages 12-18. No registration is needed. For more information, call 330-821-2665, ext. 214.
Teen Writing Club 01/02 & 01/23:
Teen Writing Club will meets every other Wednesday of the month. For ages 12-18, the purpose of this group is to meet with fellow teen writers to work on writing exercises and hone skills. Any teen can join. Share work with the group if desired. The next meetings will be on January 2nd & 23rd from 4 to 5:30 p.m. No registration is needed. Teen Nerf Night 01/03:
Teens, ages 12-18, are invited to join us at the Main Auditorium on Thursday, Jan. 3, from 5:15 to 7 p.m., for an after-hours, Nerf Challenge event. Teens are allowed to bring their Nerf weapons that follow the guidelines of the program. Guidelines include: Nerf weapons must be original colors (no paint or tape can obscure Nerf markings), the tips of the Nerf weapons cannot be tampered with in any manner, and all Nerf weapons will be tested before play. We reserve the right to ban any Nerf weapons deemed unacceptable. There will be a limited number of Nerf weapons on hand to use as well. No registration is needed. Teen Movie Night 01/08:
All teens, ages 13-18, are invited to see Venom, a free movie on RPL’s big screen in the auditorium on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019, at 5:30 p.m. When a young man discovers that another life form not only inhabits his body, but works in partnership with him, he must make the decision to embrace this inner monster in order to save his life. Teen Gaming Day 1/10, & 1/24:
On Thursdays, from 3-5pm., are teens, ages 12-18, are invited to Rodman Public Library to play their favorite video games on the Xbox One, Xbox 360 with Kinect, Playstation 3 & 4, Nintendo Wii & Wii U, Nintendo Switch. Visitors will have the opportunity to play a different game each week. Games with ratings from "E" for Everyone, up to "T" for Teen level, will be offered. Teen Advisory 01/21:
Teens, ages 12-18 – We Want You! Help us decide what kind of programs we will have for our teen patrons. Those teens interested in having their voices heard, come to Rodman Library’s Auditorium. The Teen Advisory meets on the third Monday of the month to help decide teen programming at the Library. This is a great opportunity for teens looking to do community service. Gaming Unplugged 01/22:
Teens, ages 12-18, gather your friends and come to the main library on Tuesday, January 22nd, from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Choose your favorite board games... or card games on hand at the library. Be adventurous. Try something new. Bring your own magic and duel it out with your friends. No registration is needed.
Anime Club 01/29:
All teens, ages 13-18, are invited to Rodman Public Library on Tuesday, January 29th from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Teens will have the chance to pick their favorite episodes to be shown on RPL's big screen.
