Teen Nerf Night 05/17:
Teens, ages 12-18, are invited to join us at the Main Auditorium on Thursday, May 17, from 5:15 to 7 p.m., for an after-hours, Nerf Challenge event. Teens are allowed to bring their Nerf weapons that follow the guidelines of the program. Guidelines include: Nerf weapons must be original colors (no paint or tape can obscure Nerf markings), the tips of the Nerf weapons cannot be tampered with in any manner, and all Nerf weapons will be tested before play. We reserve the right to ban any Nerf weapons deemed unacceptable. There will be a limited number of Nerf weapons on hand to use as well. No registration is needed. Teen Gaming Days 05/10 & 05/24:
On Thursdays, from 3-5 p.m., area teens,ages 12-18, are invited to Rodman Public Library to play their favorite video games on the Xbox One, Xbox 360 with Kinect, Playstation 3 & 4, and Nintendo Wii, WiiU, and Switch. The next sessions will be held Thursdays, May 10th & 24th. Visitors will have the opportunity to play a different game each week. Games with ratings from “E” for Everyone, up to”T” for Teen level, will be offered. Along with the video games, the iPads are available to teens. Gaming Unplugged 05/22:
Teens, ages 12-18, gather your friends and come to the main library on Tuesday, May 22nd, from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Choose your favorite board games... or card games on hand at the library. Be adventurous. Try something new. Bring your own magic and duel it out with your friends. No registration is needed.
Teen Summer Reading 05/29-7/28:
Teens, ages 12-18, who complete four hours per week of reading will get one entry into the Summer Reading Teen Grand Prize Drawing that will consist of two baskets, each containing assorted prizes. Only one basket may be claimed by a participant. There will also be weekly online challenge questions for teens. For each correctly answered challenge question, participants will get an additional entry into the Grand Prize Drawing. Twenty hours of completed reading will earn a prize of one book of the teen’s choice from selected books offered. Five additional hours will earn an extra themed prize.
Anime Club: 05/29:
Pick your favorite episodes to view on RPL’s big screen. Anime meets in the Main Auditorium. No registration is needed. Tuesday, May 29th, from 3:00-5:00 p.m.
Teen Advisory 05/21:
Teens, ages 12-18– We Want You! Help us decide what kind of programs we will have for our teen patrons. Those teens interested in having their voices heard, come to Rodman Library’s Conference Room. The Teen Advisory meets each month to help decide teen programming at the Library. The next meeting is Monday, May 21st, from 3:30 to 5 p.m.This is a great opportunity for teens looking to do community service. For more information, call 330-821-2665, ext. 214.
