As the United States marked its semiquincentennial this year, the Alliance Historical Society took the opportunity to honor the city’s founders as well, establishing a Hall of Fame.
Selecting 26 for 2026, the inaugural class will be officially inducted during the annual meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 10 inside Rodman Auditorium when board members Michelle Dillon and Jack Weber give an introduction of each.
Registration is required to attend the event.
The hall of fame class was officially unveiled on Flag Day at Glamorgan Castle when the Society was part of an effort with Castle Crusaders, Alliance Rotary Club and other volunteers representing other community partners in a 250-flag installation when signs representing the inductees were placed among flags.
The first class, which featured 22 individuals and four husband-and-wife “teams,” were all active prior to 1920, many of them founders of areas that eventually became Alliance. Others were industrialists, educators, artists, and businessmen who were influential in the early success of the Carnation City.
During the program, Dillon and Weber will provide a brief biographical description of each inductee, which includes the following:
