Summertime means Storytime at Rodman Branch Library.

Each Tuesday, from June 6 through July 25, two identical Storytime sessions will be held - one at 10:30 a.m. and another at 11:30 a.m. at the Branch.

Each week will feature different stories and activities related to the 2023 Summer Reading Program theme of All Together Now.

Following its performance of Dr. Dolittle the previous night, MellyPop! Productions will return to RPL to conduct puppet making workshops. 

MellyPop! will offer two separate sessions, one at 5:45 p.m. and another at 6:45 p.m. where children aged 6-12 will learn how to build a puppet.

Children may register for one puppet making workshop session.

A separate registration is required for the puppet making workshops and the Monday performance.

MellyPop! will present Dr. Dolittle at 6 p.m. in the Rodman auditorium. Children will have fun hanging out with Dottie, Dr. Dolittle's bumbling new assistant, as she shares stories with all of the magical, talking animals during the interactive show that combines puppets with music and comedy and is inspired by Hugh Lofting's book The Story of Doctor Dolittle and Rudyard Kipling's short story Rikki Tikki Tavi.

Registration is required to attend the puppet show.

Children, ages birth through 5, have a standing play date at Rodman Public Library every Wednesday between June 14 and July 26.

On those Wednesdays, a play group will be offered from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on inside the Rodman Main Auditorium.

Board books and toys will be available for the children to play with while coffee and tea will be offered to the adults, who will have the opportunity to socialize.
