Rodman Library Offers Book Clubs for All Ages

If you like to read, Rodman Library has a book club for you – no matter your age.

Here's a look at future book club selections:

 

I READ YA DISCUSSION

The I Read YA Discussion, a book club for adults who like to read young adult literature, meets every first Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at the Main Library. Registration is required to attend.

NOTE: September's meeting will be held on the second Monday due to the observance of Labor Day.

Future selections include:

  • June 3 β€” An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
  • July 1 β€” Lovely War by Julie Berry
  • August 5 β€” Illuminae by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff
  • September 9 β€” Dungeons and Drama by Kristy Boyce

KIDS BOOK CLUB

SUMMER READING RUNS MAY 28 - JULY 27

During the Summer Reading Program, Kids Book Club will be held two times on the day of the meeting at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Summer Reading selections are:

  • June 12 β€” The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamillo
  • July 17 β€” The Lightning Thief (either novel or graphic novel) by Rick Riordan

The Kids Book Club will return to its usual meeting time of 4:15 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month in August.

  • August 21 β€” Charlotte's Web by E.B. White

Book Club meetings include a brief discussion about the book, a fun activity, and a snack.

Books are available for extended checkout at the Children’s Department.  Registration is required for each session at rodmanlibrary.evanced.info/signup, or contact the Children’s Department at 330-821-2665 ext. 223.

TRUE CRIME JUNKIES

The True Crime Junkies meet at 6:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month.

Selections for future meetings include:

  • May 21 β€” The Babysitter: My Summers with a Serial Killer by Liza Rodman
  • June 18 β€” Searching for Savanna: The Murder of One Native American Woman and the Violence Against the Many by Mona Gable

The Books and Coffee Book Club usually meets at 6:30 p.m. every second Monday of the month at Rodman Branch Library.

 The Evening Book Discussion Group meets at 6:00 p.m. on the fourth Monday of each month.

NOTE: The December meeting will be held on the third Monday of the month due to the Christmas holiday.

The DAR Book Group, facilitated by the Jain Bain Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, meets quarterly. The group, which is open to both men and women, meets at 3 p.m. on a selected Friday in the RPL conference room.
