The RPL Makerspace is offering programs to help patrons get explore what it has to offer and to discover new crafting skills.
Although there is usually a cost for materials when using the Makerspace, these planned programs are being offered free of charge and registration may be required.
Those attending Makerspace programs may also have to follow other requirements to use the space.
Those under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

MAKE A MOTH MUG

July 22 at 3 p.m.
Come make a free custom mug and celebrate National Moth Week using tools from the library’s Makerspace. Registration is required.

CARNATION FESTIVAL MAKER DAY
Saturday, August 2
10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Come make a free Carnation Festival-themed project in the Makerspace! We’ll have designs and materials to choose from, and a librarian will help you create something to celebrate. To participate, please call the Library at 330-821-2665, ext. 215 to choose a window of time to make your project. Expect that all projects will take at least an hour. All patrons must have user and hold harmless agreements on file or sign those forms in order to participate, and patrons under 18 must have a user agreement signed by a parent or guardian. Patrons under 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the program.
MARVEL MAKER DAY

Saturday, August 16
10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Come make a free Marvel-themed project in the Makerspace! We’ll have designs and materials to choose from, and a librarian will help you create something to celebrate the release of The Fantastic Four: First Steps. To participate, please call the Library at 330-821-2665, ext. 215 to choose a window of time to make your project. Expect that all projects will take at least an hour. All patrons must have user and hold harmless agreements on file in order to participate, and patrons under 18 must have a user agreement signed by a parent or guardian. Patrons under 14 must be accompanied by an parent or guardian during the program.

PAPER SCRAP CHALLENGE
Thursday, August 21 at 4 p.m.
Come make an original project using scrap paper from the library’s Makerspace! Scraps and new materials will be free of charge, and the Makerspace Librarian will be able to help you with your project. Please visit the Makerspace web page to learn more about the Makerspace before arriving. All patrons must have user and hold harmless agreements on file or sign those forms in order to use machines, and patrons under 18 must have a user agreement signed by a parent or guardian. Patrons under 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the program to use machines, and patrons under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the program in general. That adult must be signed up for the program.

DIY FALL DECORATIONS
Thursday, August 28 at 4 p.m.
Come learn how to make your very own fall decorations and get ready for the season in the library’s Makerspace! Bring your own paper or cardstock, or use ours for free. Patrons who sign up can make up to three pieces to take home. Please visit the Makerspace web page to learn more about the Makerspace before arriving.
