Rodman Library’s computer classes continue and will run through November. Classes in October will be held October 12, 17, 19, 24, and 30. Hands-on classes are limited to nine (9) persons and a maximum of two (2) alternates. All classes start at 10 a.m. except where noted at 6:30 p.m., and last about one hour. iPad/iPhone Basics: Be introduced to basic features on your iPad/iPhone and some popular apps to get you started. Learn how to download apps, close apps, change settings, and more. Please be sure your device is charged and you know your passwords. Class date is Thursday, September 28
Basic Computer: Learn the basics of the computer and common desktop elements including the power button, Start menu, windows, and files. There will be a short introduction on the functions of the mouse and keyboard. Class date is Thursday, October 12
Searching the Net: The focus will be on various search engines, and how to become a better Internet searcher. Prior experience with using the Internet is preferred but not necessary. Class date is Tuesday, October 17
Word Basics: Become familiar with Word through an overview of this program— word processing, how to copy, paste, add page numbers, format a document, and use templates. Attendance at Computer Basics or prior experience with Windows is preferred. Class date is Thursday, October 19
Email Basics: Reading and sending emails, plus attaching and opening attached files are explained using a free email account from Google. The class is suited to those who do not currently have an email account and are interested in creating one. Attendance at basic Internet class or prior experience with using the Internet is preferred. Class date is Tuesday, October 24
Intro to Windows 10: Curious about Windows 10? We will demonstrate how to navigate through this interface and show new elements such as the Edge browser. This class is demonstration only. Class date is Monday, October 30 at 6:30 p.m.
