Are you a teen who loves to read? Join Rodman Public Library for the Teen Book Club that meets on the third Monday of the month at 4:00 p.m. at the Main Library. The selected title for December is You've Reached Sam by Dustin Thao. Copies are available at the Main Library, through the library's catalog, or digitally through Axis 360 or the Ohio Digital Library. This program is patrons ages 12-18. Robin Yocum, a former journalist known for his fiction set in the Ohio River Valley, will appear at Rodman Public Library as part of the Fogle Author Series. Yocum, whose book "The Essay" was the 2014 One Book One Community selection, has two works of nonfiction and six works of fiction to his credit. His latest book, "The Sacrifice of Lester Yates," was published in 2021 and was a finalist for the Dashiell Hammett Award for outstanding crime writing.

Described as a seminal new waver, Chris Butler is a musician best known for a few hits from the 1980s, yet he is still writing and recording with many unique works to his credit. Butler, an Akron-area native who was the driving force behind the band The Waitresses that spawned the hits "I Know What Boys Like," "Christmas Wrappings" and the theme song to the TV show Square Pegs, will visit Rodman Public Library as a special guest of the Alliance Vinyl Club on Wednesday, November 16.

Teens who have an interest in writing are encouraged to join Rodman Public Library for the Teen Writing Club that meets on the second and fourth Wednesdays at 3:30 p.m. in computer lab at the Main Library. Have fun meeting with your fellow teen writers to exchange ideas, hone your skills and share your work, if desired. No registration is required. For more information, call 330-821-2665, ext. 217.

Rodman Public Library will host a My Parent & Me Paint Night on Tuesday, November 15.

Children, ages 7-12, and their caregiver are invited to the Main Library at 6:00 p.m. and each will create a pumpkin painting on their two canvasses. All materials will be provided thanks to Friends of Rodman Public Library.

Registration is required for both the child and their adult companion.
