Fogle Author Robin Yocum, who has six works of fiction to his credit, will offer a writing workshop, giving information to help aspiring writers launch and finish a book. "Writing is an art, so there is no rigid formula for writing a book. Every saxophone player has their own style, but the basic fingering is pretty much the same. I'm going to teach them how I write. Essentially, I'm going to show them my basic fingering as it pertains to writing a novel.

Due to the painting and other activities happening in the Children's Department, the Kids Crafting program will be a take and make project in December. Children, ages 6-12, are invited to Rodman Public Library beginning Thursday, December 1 to pick up a gingerbread house project. The kits will be distributed throughout the month while supplies last.

The Evening Book Discussion Group will resume meetings in August at Rodman Public Library. The club meets at 6:00 p.m. on the fourth Monday of each month at the Main Auditorium. The club has announced its next three selections, including Musical Chairs by Amy Poeppel for its meeting on Aug. 23. The selection for Sept. 27 will be The Rose Code by Kate Quinn. Teen Dungeons and Dragons

Teens, 12-18, can sign up at Rodman Public Library to participate in an ongoing series of "one-shot" Dungeons and  Dragons missions every month based on the Candlekeep Mysteries sourcebook. Players do not have to play consistently each month to participate.

Those interested can sign up via our online calendar on a month-to-month basis. Space will be limited each month to six players. A DnD Beyond account and email address is required to play.
