Annual Zombie Walk

Teens, ages 12-18, are invited to join us in the Main Auditorium on Tuesday, Oct. 31, from 3 to 4:30 p.m., to get ready for the annual Zombie Walk through the neighborhood. We’ll transform teen participants into the walking dead by applying Zombie makeup. Teens are asked to bring their tattered clothes or old dress attire to fit the theme. The Friends of the Library will provide the makeup. All attendees will walk around the neighborhood in a Zombie hoard. Snacks will be provided and a prize will be given for the best zombie makeup. No registration is needed.

Stranger Things Escape

Teens, 12-18, are invited to participate in a “Stranger Things” themed escape room held at Rodman Main Auditorium on Thursday, October 26 from 3 to 5 p.m. In small groups, teens will attempt to “rescue” Will and escape from the “Upside Down.” While the escape room is happening, other participants can build a waffle snack and create Eggo® charms out of polymer clay, a light-up card and a perler bead craft. A photo-op will be available, so come dressed as a favorite character. No registration is needed. This program is supported by the Friends of Rodman Library.

Game Creation Using Bloxels

Teens, ages 12-18, are invited to join us at the Main Auditorium on Wednesday, Sept. 20, and Thursday, Sept. 21, from 3 to 5 p.m., for video creation using BloxelsTM. Teens will work in pairs for two days using BloxelTM kits to design their own video game app. Each kit contains various colored blocks that teens will place onto a board to design the game levels and characters. Once the level is designed with the blocks, each team will take a photo with an iPad (provided). The process is then repeated to design their character.
