Described as a seminal new waver, Chris Butler is a musician best known for a few hits from the 1980s, yet he is still writing and recording with many unique works to his credit. Butler, an Akron-area native who was the driving force behind the band The Waitresses that spawned the hits "I Know What Boys Like," "Christmas Wrappings" and the theme song to the TV show Square Pegs, will visit Rodman Public Library as a special guest of the Alliance Vinyl Club on Wednesday, November 16.

Craft: Yarn Pumpkins

Led by Nicole Brown, Maker Monday is an in-person craft program for adults that is held monthly on select Mondays. All materials are provided free of charge, thanks to Friends of Rodman Library, but space is limited and registration is required for each session.

Just like humans, each type of vegetable is unique. Every type of whole-food offers your body different possible health benefits.

Rodman Public Library invites patrons to get to know their food a little better from the inside out when Holly Bandy of the Ohio State University Extension's College of Food, Agriculture and Environmental Science, presents "Know Your Food" at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 3.

If you collect vinyl records and like listening to them with others, then you need to join the Alliance Vinyl Club on Wednesday, Oct.26 at 6:30 p.m. in the Main Auditorium at Rodman Public Library. The theme for the night will be Halloween music. Those in attendance will have the opportunity to spin their favorite records. Due to time limitations, only a few selections per person will be played.

A native of Alliance who grew up reading books at the Rodman Public Library, Janice Hisle will kick off the 2022 Fogle Author Series.

Hisle, who worked for more than two decades as a journalist before becoming a freelance writer and award-winning author, will present "Nothing But the Truth" at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24 at Rodman Public Library.
