Red Tail (Steve Rickard) will give a presentation on ‘The Horse and How it Influenced the Native Americans in the Rocky Mountains’, at Rodman Public Library on Monday, April 15, at 7:00 p.m., in the main auditorium. Many in the Alliance area are familiar with Red Tail through his previous engagements at Rodman. Red Tail is an Alliance native who returns yearly to his hometown and brings with him another fascinating look at the history of our country’s Native Americans.

The Alliance Historical Society will present a program at Rodman Public Library, Monday, April 1, at 7:00 p.m., on the large military guns that were manufactured in Alliance in the late 1800s and early years of the 20th century. Don Shaffer will discuss the history of the manufacture of military machinery for the U.S. Government by Morgan Engineering. Shaffer and his son Chris have compiled a large collection of photographs which will be used during the presentation.

Dan Skivolocke, owner of Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, will present a history of funerals and funeral traditions from the U.S. and around the world that will include visuals. Sponsored by the Alliance Historical Society, the program will take place on Tuesday, October 1, at 7:00 p.m. in Rodman Public Library’s main auditorium. The program is free and open to the public.
