Teen Gaming Tournament
Submitted by event_admin on Fri, 10/19/2012 - 12:59pmAs part of National Gaming Day, Rodman Public Library joins in celebration with other libraries by offering a Teen Gaming Tournament, Saturday, Nov. 3, from 1:00-3:00 p.m., in Rodman’s main auditorium.
Super Smash Brothers Brawltm will be played only on a Wiitm gaming system, in a one-on-one, head-to-head competition. Participants may bring their own controllers, but everything else, including characters, will be random. The tournament will consist of double elimination and best of three. Prizes will be awarded to the top two finalists.

Auditorium - Lung Health

Dr. Basit is Board Certified in Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine and will be answering questions about COPD (emphysema, etc.) and other lung disorders. Find out if you have risk factors & if so, how you can be diagnosed and treated!
This program is free and open to the public.

Alliance Yesterday, 1850-1900
Submitted by site_admin on Sat, 09/29/2012 - 4:28pmDan Skivolocke, owner of Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, will present his pictorial history of the first 50 years of Alliance titled “Alliance Yesterday, 1850-1900”, in Rodman Public Library’s main auditorium. Skivolocke began 21 years ago writing a weekly article for the Alliance Review called “We Were There” that eventually gave way to “Alliance Yesterday”, a program about Alliance history he began presenting around 1992, with the help of the Alliance Historical Society.
Auditorium - An Afternoon with Charles Dickens

Rodman Public Library is commemorating this bicentennial with An Afternoon with Charles Dickens, a program presented on Saturday, December 8, at 2:00 p.m., by Largely Literary Theater Company artistic director and co-founder Mark Dawidziak.
Teen Pumpkin Decorating
Submitted by event_admin on Tue, 09/25/2012 - 10:31amWhat comes to mind when thoughts turn to fall? If it is pumpkins and if you are a teen between the ages of 12-18, you are invited to join us at Rodman Public Library for this unique event on Thursday, October 25, from 3:30-5:00 p.m.
All attendees will be given one pumpkin to carve, paint or just decorate. All carved and decorated pumpkins will then be judged by our library panel for most creative pumpkin and the winner will receive a prize. The pumpkins will then be on display for a week in the library gallery for all patrons to view.
