Rodman Public Library will complete its popular fall computer classes in November. Hands-on classes are limited to nine (9) persons and a maximum of two (2) alternates. All classes start at 10:00 a.m. and last about one hour. Registration is required and accepted by telephone, or in person, beginning the Monday of the week prior to the class. Borrowing eBooks – Follow along as a library staff member walks you through the eBook search and downloads process. Be sure to bring your library card & eReader with you. Patrons with Kindle devices should bring their Amazon sign-in ID and password. Class date is Wed., Oct. 31.

Excel Basics- Learn the Basics of MS Excel 2007, how spreadsheets work, how to enter data and formulas to calculate results. Attendance at, or familiarity with Word Basics is preferred. Class dates are Thurs., Oct. 11 & Tues., Oct. 30.

Word Basics & Editing - Become familiar with Word through an overview of this program and its functions. Learn the basics of word processing, how to copy and paste, cut and paste, insert date, time and page numbers, plus how to format a document and use templates. Students must know how to use a mouse and be familiar with Windows. Class date is Thurs., Oct. 25.

Maintenance & Security Basics - Learn how to secure your personal computer with preventative maintenance and security procedures. Class topics include: security threats, backup of your computer, available free software for security and why it’s necessary to create strong passwords. Students will also learn how to keep their computer updated and running at its optimum. Attendance at Windows Basics is suggested. Class date is Wed., Oct. 24.

Email Basics - Learn the basics of reading and sending emails as well as how to attach and open attached files using a free email account from Yahoo! This class is especially suited to those who do not currently have an email account and want to create one. Students should be familiar with using the Internet before attending. Class date is Tues., Oct. 23.

Internet Basics - Learn the basics of the Internet, terminology, navigation and browser options and some sights of interest. Students must know how to use a mouse. Class date is Thurs., Oct. 18.

Windows Basics - Become familiar with Windows in this class when you will learn about the common desktop elements, what the Start button can do, how to resize windows and create a shortcut. Students must know how to use a mouse. Class date is Wed., Oct. 17.
