SPARK SUPPORTING PARTNERSHIPS TO ASSURE READY KIDS™ is a family-focused intervention program that prepares children for kindergarten. Although the initial investment in SPARK was made by the W. K. Kellogg Foundation in partnership with the Sisters of Charity Foundation of Canton, multiple funders now support SPARK sites in six Ohio counties.

Children's Halloween Party
Submitted by event_admin on Sat, 07/14/2012 - 11:15amThe Children’s Department at Rodman Public Library will be hosting a Children’s Halloween Party on Saturday, October 27, from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Lots of fun activities, games and stories will be set up throughout the Children’s Department and auditorium. Children will also collect treats to take home.
No reservations are required and the program is open to children ages 3-12 with an adult. Halloween costumes are optional but encouraged. For more information, call the Children’s Department at 330-821-2665, ext. 224.

Alien autopsy
Submitted by event_admin on Sat, 07/14/2012 - 11:14amRodman Library’s own “Mad Scientist”, librarian Terri Snode, will pay a visit to the Children’s Department on Monday, October 8, from 2:00-3:00 p.m. (school is closed for Columbus Day). Snode, and the children as lab assistants, will be conducting experiments at five different science stations.
Recycle-it Scrapbooking
Submitted by event_admin on Sat, 07/14/2012 - 10:41amTeens, ages 13-18, are invited to create their own summer scrapbook using recycled materials. Terri Snode, a Rodman Library Children’s Department staff member, will be showing teens techniques to transform materials from around the house into a unique scrapbook of their summer experiences. Materials for the scrapbooks will be provided.
Registration is required by Friday, August 24. There is a limit of 20 participants. The program takes place on Friday, August 31, at 1:00 p.m. in the Main Library Auditorium.
Summer Art ages 7-9
Submitted by event_admin on Sat, 07/14/2012 - 10:21amParticipate in a "Summer Art Experience at Rodman Public Library". Children will work with local Art Instructors for three sessions of classes, exploring and creating using various art media. At the end of the program, children will receive a certificate of completion and art materials to take home with them. Advance registration is required and participants must commit to attending three classes. Slots are available for 10 children. Special funding awarded by the Stark Community Foundation, Alliance Quota Club and Rodman Friends of the Library.
