Dan Skivolocke presents a historical look at funerals -klp

Dan Skivolocke, owner of Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, will return to Rodman Library to continue his pictorial history of Alliance with the second 50 years titled "Alliance Yesterday, 1900-1950" on Wednesday, March 6, at 7:00 p.m., in Rodman Public Library’s main auditorium. Skivolocke began 21 years ago writing a weekly article for the Alliance Review called "We Were There" that eventually gave way to "Alliance Yesterday", a program about Alliance history he began presenting around 1992, with the help of the Alliance Historical Society.

Wee Read, a program offered by Rodman Library’s Children’s Department, is designed to introduce children to books, fingerplays and music incorporating the six early learning skills. Patrons, ages birth through two years, and their parents or caregivers are invited to Wee Read, Monday evenings, May 6, 13 and 20, from 6:30-7:00 p.m. and Wednesday mornings, May 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29, from 10:30-11:00 a.m. There will be no Wee Read on May 27, as the library will be closed for Memorial Day.

A program designed to introduce children to books, fingerplays and music incorporating the six early learning skills. in May for 3-5 year olds. Patrons may attend Storytime at 
either location on Tuesday evenings, May. 7, 14, 21 and 28, 
from 6:30-7:15 p.m. or Thursday mornings, May 2, 9, 16, 23 and 
30, from 10:30 -11:15 a.m. Rodman Main is located at 215 E. 
Broadway St., and Rodman Branch is located at 1808 West State 
St. in the Marketplace Plaza.

Rodman Main Library will host Storytime in April for 3-to-5-year-olds from 10:30-11:15am. The goal of Storytime is to encourage life-long readers through stories, music, movement and activities. Pre-registration is not required. For more information, call 330-821-2665, ext. 223 (jm)
