Cool Chemistry Show

Join Sheryl Mason, Ph.D., a chemistry and biochemistry assistant professor at the University of Mount Union, and her general chemistry class at Rodman Library in the Children’s Program Room. As part of their college class experience, Mason’s chemistry students will present exciting and cool chemistry demonstrations to children such as ‘Dragon’s Breath’ and ‘Elephant’s Toothpaste’. Children will have fun with the chance of a hands-on opportunity to make slime while thinking like a scientist.

Who is helping give out half a million free books across America on April 23rd?  

We are!

World Book Night U.S. is an ambitious campaign to give thousands of free, specially printed paperbacks to light or nonreaders across America on one day. Volunteer book lovers help promote reading by going out into their communities and sharing free copies of books they love. The mission of World Book Night is to seek out those without the means or access to printed books.

Alliance's Big Guns

The Alliance Historical Society will present a program at Rodman Public Library, Monday, April 1, at 7:00 p.m., on the large military guns that were manufactured in Alliance in the late 1800s and early years of the 20th century. Don Shaffer will discuss the history of the manufacture of military machinery for the U.S. Government by Morgan Engineering. Shaffer and his son Chris have compiled a large collection of photographs which will be used during the presentation.
