Summer Art Classes
Submitted by event_admin on Sat, 03/23/2013 - 9:57amParticipate in a “Summer Art Experience” at Rodman Public Library. Children, ages 5-13, will work with local art instructors for three sessions of free art classes on Mondays or Tuesdays beginning June 17, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. for ages 5-8, and 2:30-4:00 p.m. for ages 9-13. At the end of the program, children will receive a certificate of completion and art materials to take home.

SARTA Training
Submitted by event_admin on Fri, 03/22/2013 - 11:30amSARTA will present a Travel Training Session at Rodman Main Library every other month on the third Tuesday from 11 a.m. to noon. Whether you're concerned with easing the strain on our environment or the strain on your wallet, Stark Area Regional Transit Authority (SARTA) is something to consider.
SARTA's Travel Trainers will talk about our public transportation system, how to use it and how to plan trips. A 31-day bus pass is available the first time you attend a Travel Training Session. A picture ID must be presented to receive a pass.
Mount Union Education Students

Spinners
Submitted by event_admin on Tue, 03/19/2013 - 8:48amA community spinning group meets at Rodman Public Library on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 9:30 a.m. in the main auditorium. The next meetings are scheduled for May 7, and May 21. Bring your fibers and wheel or spindle. Anyone who spins, or who wants to learn how, is invited to network and compare notes.
Please note that due to Election Day on May 7, the meeting will be held in the Children’s Programming Room.

Frank P. Atherton and the Alliance City Band
Submitted by site_admin on Sat, 03/16/2013 - 10:29pmIn a multimedia presentation for the Alliance Historical Society, Alliance native and former City Band member, Ralph Holibaugh, will share information he has compiled for a biographical study of the band’s least known director, Frank P. Atherton. The presentation to be given at Rodman Public Library’s Main Auditorium on Monday, June 3, at 7:00 p.m., will discuss a 12-month period between 1905 and 1906, at which time Atherton directed the band and the Craven Opera House Orchestra.
