Join the Children's Department staff as we celebrate Clifford the Big Red Dog's 50th birthday. This picture book classic was first written and published in 1963 by Norman Bridwell. There are now over 100 Clifford titles with 126 million books in print. Participants will have fun with stories, activities, crafts, food and prizes. Bring your camera - Clifford will make a grand appearance! This second session is for younger children ages 3-7. Limit of 30. Registration is required. City of Alliance Historic Preservation Commission meeting -klp

Do you like a good ghost story?  Then join Mark Dawidziak, author and critic for "Ghosts By the Tale," an evening of  ghost fables and legends from different cultures, along with a collection of stories, from  his personal experiences, about haunted sites in Northeast Ohio (including a haunted library!) .  You'll have a frighteningly good time! The Canton Regional Chapter of SCORE and Stark Community Foundation are partnering to offer a workshop for Alliance area non-profit groups, both startups and existing organizations. The workshop will be held Tuesday, May 14, from 1:00-3:30 p.m. at Rodman Public Library in Alliance at 215 East Broadway. The workshop's purpose is to help non-profits create and sustain success in a difficult economic environment. Attendance will be limited to the first 30 registrants. Patrons, ages birth through two years, and their parents or caregivers are invited to Wee Read, Monday evenings, July 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29, from 6:30-7:00 p.m. and Wednesday mornings, July 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31, from 10:30-11:00 a.m.

A children's program on North American dinosaurs will be presented by Lynnette Reiner, Science Director at the Wm. McKinley Presidential Library & Museum Discover World on Wednesday, June 19th from 2-3 pm. Examine the dinosaurs that once lived in America. Learn about archaeological sites of interest and all the new technologies and theories of these great beasts of the past. For ages 7-12. No advance registration required. (jm)
