Find out if Rodman Library has Books You Find while Searching Online Bookstores

Do you buy a lot of books from online bookstores like Amazon.com or Barnes & Noble? Would you like to look at books before you buy a copy? Then try this easy way to see if Rodman Library owns a copy. (Please note, you need to use Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher or Netscape 7 or higher to use this bookmarklet.)

Follow these steps:

  1. Right-click on the Rodman Public Library link below and add it to your Favorites folder (Internet Explorer) or Bookmarks (Netscape) - Rodman Public Library. You can also click on the link and drag it to your browser's toolbar (Netscape) or Links toolbar (Internet Explorer).
  2. Search an online bookstore such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or Powell's Books for a title.
  3. When you find a book, click on the Rodman Public Library link on your toolbar or in your Favorites/Bookmarks list.
  4. A new window will open with the library's catalog in it to show you whether the library owns the title or not. The new window may open under your main browser window.
  5. If the library owns the title, you can then reserve the title and the library will call you when it is available for checkout.
