It is often difficult to see the good in bad situations. In this book, Rollin shares her personal struggles during difficult times and instructs the reader how they can find the good during the bad. Rollin also includes stories of well known individuals that overcame the bad and turned it into good such as Steve Jobs, Charles Colson, and Bill Clinton. This book is a must read for anybody experiencing difficult times and looking for encouragement.
Selecting from his archive of seventy-five thousand unpublished wartime correspondences, Carroll selects and publishes the fifty best letters that deal with God, religion and faith during war. In this book, one can read how important faith is to a soldier, especially during war. Carroll’s selected letters cover a wide range in history. Readers can select a letter from the American Revolution or a more modern letter from a soldier in Iraq. After reading this book, the reader should have a better answer to the question, "Where is God in wartime?"
This book presents the very interesting life story of Duane "Dog" Chapman. Duane, or "Dog", as he likes to be called by his friends (after reading this book, you do not want to be his enemy) is the star of the of the hit A&E show, Dog the Bounty Hunter. This book is filled with action and is a very interesting read. He includes details growing up as a teen, his experiences as a gang member, his trouble with addictions, his conviction for murder one (being present during a murder) and his life as a bounty hunter. Dog rediscovered his faith and recently captured one of the FBI’s Most Wanted List fugitives, Max Factor heir and convicted rapist, Andrew Luster. Scores of video games are released each year. Shopping for the perfect game can be difficult and frustrating. This book serves as a good reference source to help make purchasing a game a little easier. In this book, the reader can obtain information on 150 games by genre, ratings, or by platform. For each of the 150 games, helpful information such as a game summary, challenges, platform availability, key gameplay elements, game world size, play time, your role, replay value, and similar games make selecting a game easier. Parents will also like the listings for each game that explain what morals the game teaches, if any, and for which age group the game is rated.
Fox’s hit series, 24, is a great show with a loyal following. Intrigue, suspense, mystery, and explosions are common in the lead character’s life, agent Jack Bauer. One cannot help but wonder if Wesemann was watching the same show so many fans enjoy. Are faith lessons present in the series? Wesemann believes they are and uses a scene from each episode to explore faith. Not stopping there, Wesemann show how each faith truth relates to our everyday life. This book would make a nice "Bible Study" for churches looking to reach younger individuals. |
