New Reference Books

The Library’s Information and Reference Center has chosen to highlight the following new books to help patrons find answers to questions about antiques.

MILLER'S ANTIQUES PRICE GUIDE 2008

Just as in previous editions, this book provides full color pictures of thousands of antiques and collectibles. From furniture to pottery, musical instruments to decorative art, each entry includes a brief description and a price range for the item. An easy access contents page is available in the front of the book and a full index in the back along with a directory of auctioneers. This book is a helpful tool for those interested in pricing antiques.

KOVELS' ANTIQUES AND COLLECTIBLES

This full color book lists antiques and collectibles in alphabetical order from A. Walter to zsolnay. The types of antiques are listed along with each item of that sort that was produced. Specific prices are given for each item and tips are given throughout the book to keep antiques and collectibles in shape. A full index is located in the back of the book. This is a must-have for any collector.

WARMAN'S ANTIQUES AND COLLECTIBLES

This 2008 price guide is broken into alphabetical, color coded sections including ceramics, furniture and toys. A miscellaneous section is also added with such entries as advertising, Coca Cola and Disney. An alphabetical index is located in the back of the book. It is an essential guide for collectors.
