Everyone is familiar with how Christmas is celebrated today throughout the country, but this book gives an interesting overview of how the holiday has grown and changed since colonial days. Common traditions are explained, such as the origins of Christmas trees and the modern Santa Claus.

This volume was the result of a request from Reminisce editors to have their readers share memories of old-time Christmases. They received so many, they decided to assemble them into a book. There are stories that cover a variety of holiday memories, such as food, school pageants, gifts, and sharing time with family. Photographs are featured predominately throughout. One entertaining section is "Look What Santa Brought!" with pictures of kids excited by what they opened from Santa on Christmas morning.
