215 East Broadway Street Alliance, OH 44601 330-821-2665 Carnegie Free LibraryThe Carnegie Free Library was dedicated in 1904. It was constructed using $25,000 in funding received from philanthropist Andrew Carnegie. The new building was located on the northeast corner of South Arch Avenue and High Street. It was remodeled in 1950 when the dome was removed and additions were added. It remained in service until the completion of the Rodman building in 1963. The Carnegie building was demolished in 1974.
