Rodman Public Library Renovations

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) | Progress Photographs

Rodman Public Library opened in 1963. Since that date, the only renovations have been one small addition to the children's room in 1972 and a new roof in 2002. Our 43-year old building has gotten a facelift.

The cost of the renovations was $2.4 million and lasted approximately 18 months. A total of $110,000 in gifts for the project have been received from Greater Alliance Foundation, The Butler Wick Foundation, the Flowers Foundation, and the Friends of Rodman Library. The Library committed $1.7 million for the project which had been set aside over the years.

Main floor planYou can help by purchasing a brick to be placed in a serpentine wall that has been built outside the Children's program room and the new Gallery. The money raised from the brick campaign will be used for future library programming. A butterfly garden will be added to the area later this summer.

Bricks may be purchased in memory or in honor of an event or a person or can just include a favorite quote. The cost is $60 for individuals or $250 for businesses or organizations. Contact the Library for further information.
