This video requires QuickTime to play.

The presentation included a history of recording in Stark County and Ohio, non-tax usage and tax usage and other information that is pertinent to the Recorder’s office. Rick also gave an Internet tutorial detailing the records online and how to use the online services of the Recorder’s office.

The Stark County Recorder has the task of keeping the vital records pertaining to ownership in real estate (land) and to all encumbrances or liens upon it. These tasks include deeds and mortgages, veterans discharge papers, and the maintenance of the permanent filing of living wills and durable powers of attorney for health care. All documents filed are retained in microfilm and electronic form for archival purposes.

Persons interested in genealogy or those looking up land records will be interested in attending this program. The Stark County Recorder’s web site is available at http://www.recorder.co.stark.oh.us
