215 East Broadway Street Alliance, OH 44601 330-821-2665 Final Spring Computer ClassesThe spring edition of Rodman Library’s computer classes is in progress. On Tuesday April 22 "Create a Slideshow" is presented for those wishing to learn to use Microsoft Powerpoint. "Maintenance Basics" is presented on Wednesday April 23. This class offers patrons the chance to learn the importance of backups, how to set a restore point and remove unused programs, how to keep a computer updated and run anti-spyware programs. Monday April 28 is the final Fourth Monday class of the spring classes. During this "Genealogical Resources" class our Reference staff will help you search your roots using resources available on the Internet. Databases to be explored include Ancestry Library Edition, Heritage Quest and Rootsweb. The Fourth Monday class will take place at 10 a.m. in the main library auditorium. There is no registration for this class. "Internet Travel Planning" will be presented on Tuesday April 29. Students will learn how to book hotel rooms and airline tickets and print out road maps. Learn to select your own seat on a plane and check out reviews of resorts with our helpful tips. Those wishing to learn the basics of computers may be interested in the following classes: "Windows Basics" on Thursday May 1, "Security Basics" on Tuesday May 6, "Browser Basics" on Monday May 12 and "Searching Google" on Thursday May 15. On Friday May 2, the computer lab will be open for those who wish to practice the skills they learned in class. All classes are at 10 a.m. and are free and open to the public. Registration is required for all classes except the Fourth Monday class. Registration can be made one week prior to each class by calling the library at 330-821-2665.
