Area teachers: Please use this form to request books to be used in your classroom. The library staff will create a collection geared to your topics or specific titles and notify you when the collection is ready to be picked up.
If you have any questions, please call Rodman Public Library's Children's Department at 330-821-2665 x224.
Classroom collections are extended loans of materials teachers select to use in the classroom. The service is available in the Children's Department of the Main Library, Branch, or on the Bookmobile.
Classroom collections allow a teacher to keep library materials together in the classroom for the duration of a particular study unit. Up to 150 items may be borrowed for classroom use. We regret that materials for personal use are not eligible for the extended loan period. This includes any adult materials.
When you have selected the materials you wish to borrow as a classroom collection, please let the Staff know as you present them for check-out. The loan period for classroom collections is 8 weeks.
The staff is willing to select materials for you if you give them at least one week's notice. We will use our professional expertise to make the selections or you may give us a bibliography. For your convenience, you may select your materials from our online catalog and then e-mail the list to the Children's Department. [ Details [4]]
A special online form [5] is also available for your use.
Both of these tools may be used outside the Library. The staff will select materials based on your criteria and prepare them for you to pick up at your convenience.
Because others are often waiting to use the materials, we ask that you return as many books as possible on the due date. However, materials in classroom collections may be renewed for an additional 28 days, if they are not on reserve for another patron. A maximum of three renewals (28 days each) may be made. For your convenience, renewals may be made by calling the library at (330) 821-2665 or online [6].
At the end of the loan period, you will receive an overdue reminder of any items not returned. After the first two-month loan period, we reserve the right to recall items which have been requested by other patrons. If an item is recalled, it is not eligible for renewal. We will notify you of items which need to be recalled.
For further information on borrowing teacher collections for use in your classroom, contact the Children's Department at (330) 821-2665 x224.
