History and Purpose

History:  The Cosmopolitan Club was founded in 1950 by seven women who were new to the Alliance area, with the goal to help newcomers to adjust to their new environment.

Purpose: Members welcome newcomers and provide opportunities to get acquainted through social contacts (interest groups), and civic projects such as supporting Salvation Army, Alliance Domestic Violence Shelter, and Sponsoring the Carnation Queen Candidate.
