Sleep Screenings

Date:
Tue, 07/24/2012 - 12:00pm - 2:00pm

Though everyone recognizes how a poor night's sleep affects them, we have only recently begun to fully understand the impact that sleep -- or lack thereof -- has on our health and well-being.

Join Rodman Public Library in welcoming representatives from Alliance Community Hospital as they present a program on the signs and symptoms of sleep apnea and how to get a good night’s sleep. Free sleep screenings will also be available for those in attendance.

According to NetWellness, a database available at Rodman Public Library, the consequences of sleep-related problems range from simply not feeling well, to increased risks of significant work and traffic-related accidents, high blood pressure, heart disease and stroke.

NetWellness is a non-profit consumer health web site that provides high quality information created and evaluated by medical and health professional faculty at Case Western Reserve University, The Ohio State University and the University of Cincinnati.

The database is available for free to those with a valid library card, by visiting Rodman Public Library’s Main and Carnation Mall Branch locations.

The program, which is free and open to the public, will take place on Tuesday, July 24, from 12 – 2 p.m. in the Main Library Auditorium. No registration is required. For more information on this program, or on the database, call 330-821-2665, ext. 208.
