The summer reading program is happening NOW!
Join us and Catch the Reading Bug!
Thursdays through August 7th in the Children's Programming Room
Each week will bring an afternoon of games, crafts and fun facilitated by Girl Scout Leaders Ja'Nira Towns and Nicole Thompson. Hands-on activities will help develop academic skills as well as focus on the theme of "courage, confidence and character."
No registration required. Attend as many weeks as you wish.
Children who are
participating in the Rodman Public Library Summer Reading Club, "Catch the
Reading Bug", are invited to walk with the Library van and staff in the
Carnation Festival Kick-off Parade on Sunday, August 10th.
Children signed up to walk in the parade will be given an insect transfer to
take home and iron onto a t-shirt to wear in the parade (quantities limited). Headbands
with antennae will be passed out at the parade. Meet at 12:45pm at the corner of
Park and Main Street (look for the brown and tan Library van). All
children must be accompanied in the parade by an adult. Children may ride in
a stroller, wagon, bike or trike. You will need to make your own arrangements
for pick up as the Library will not be providing transportation back to the
beginning of the parade route. The parade route is south on Union from Main St.
and west on Glamorgan ending at the High School. Please sign up by August 6th
at the main library if you will be joining us. For more information, call
the library at 330-821-2665.
