Summer computer classes
Rodman Library offers computer classes which will run through July 16. Classes will focus on the basics: Windows, Internet and Email. Classes in July will be held on July 10, 15 and 16. Hands-on classes are limited to nine (9) persons and a maximum of two (2) alternates. Classes are held in the computer classroom of the Main Library, 215 E. Broadway St. in Alliance. Classes will meet at 10 a.m. and last approximately one hour.
Intro to Windows 8*- Are you struggling to find where things are on the new Windows 8 interface? In Intro to Windows 8, we will be covering the basics to get you up and running on your new Windows 8 PC. We will demonstrate how to navigate through this new interface to find many of the common desktop components you are used to on a Windows computer and show you how you can customize this new app. based system to fit your interests -- plus a whole lot more! *This class is demonstration only. Surfing the Net - Learn the basics of the Internet: terminology, navigation, browser options and some sites of interest. Class date is Tues., July 15
Learning to Use Email - The basics of reading and sending emails as well as how to attach and open attached files will be explained using a free email account from Google. This class is especially suited to those who do not currently have an email account and are interested in creating one. Attendance at Surfing the Net or prior experience with using the Internet is preferred. Class date is Wed., July 16
