"Restoring Acres" with author, Lydia Hart
Lydia D. Hart will talk about her latest book, Restoring Acres, on Tuesday, September 3, from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in Rodman Public Library’s main auditorium. As a daughter of a Vietnam veteran who struggled with PTSD, Hart experienced a near fatal accident as a police officer that no one expected her to survive while on flight to the hospital. She held on to life and remained hospitalized for three weeks. Through her experiences in law enforcement, she developed a passion to serve those who serve and sacrifice for our safety and freedom.
Drawing on her love for horses and the years she served as a mounted police officer, Hart’s desire is to use horses to help those who have served our country find peace and healing. Restoring Acres is a book about the lives of veterans as they try to fit into civilian life. It tells the story of a “Vietnam veteran who is struggling with PTSD. When his horse befriends a navy SEAL, the three form a friendship. They, along with a team of other veterans, face life’s issues and restoration in their lives.”
Copies of Hart’s book will be available for purchase and signing. No reservations are needed for this program. For more information, call 330-821-2665, ext. 208.
