Auditorium - Parenting With a Purpose
Diana Boggia, M. Ed., author and syndicated columnist of the Canton Repository’s “Family Matters” will discuss how to bring out the best in your child on Monday, November 12, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Rodman Library. Boggia, who has a background in behavior management and a Masters Degree in Education and Developmental Disabilities, has worked with families for more than 20 years to eliminate unwanted behaviors in children and minimize family chaos. Her weekly newspaper column offers strategies and interventions that families find useful as well the many ways to reach and teach, with patience and without yelling, posted on her Facebook page.
Boggia’s newly published book, Parenting with a Purpose, is a valuable resource for caregivers and parents of toddlers through teens. Pediatricians, psychologists, educators and parents have endorsed her book as it provides positive, effective alternatives to reach and teach your child how to behave. It illustrates how to consider temper tantrums as an opportunity to practice new skills, using multi-sensory communication and positive recognition to replace misbehavior and empower you as you parent, while building self-confidence, listening skills and responsibility in your child.
