Knitting for Beginners

Primary tabs

A knitting class for beginners is hosted at Rodman Library from 1 to 3 p.m. in the main auditorium. Taught by Jane Graham, a member of the KnitWits Needlework Circle, the classes continue on Tuesdays, Nov. 11 and 18. There will be no class on November 4 due to Election Day. Participants are learning how to knit a “potato chip” scarf (a scarf with ruffles). Those attending need to bring size 9 knitting needles (straight) and two skeins of yarn in their choice of color.

Graham has been knitting for over 70 years. She is a retired special education teacher who began teaching knitting in the early 1960’s at the former G.C. Murphy Co. located on Main Street in Alliance, OH. No registration is needed for this class. For more information, call the main library at 330-821-2665, ext. 208.
