Knitting for Beginners
NOTE: DUE TO CLASS SIZE, WE WILL MEET IN THE CHILDREN'S PROGRAMMING ROOM ON FEBRUARY 18.
A knitting class for beginners hosted at Rodman Library meets Tuesday, Feb. 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the main auditorium. Taught by Jane Graham, a member of the KnitWits Needlework Circle, the classes will continue on Tuesdays, Feb. 11 and 18. Participants will be knitting a “potato chip” scarf. Those attending will need to bring size 9 knitting needles (straight) and two skeins of yarn in their choice of color.
Graham has been knitting for over 70 years. She is a retired special education teacher who began teaching knitting in the early 1960’s at the former G.C. Murphy Co. located on Main Street in Alliance, OH. After moving to Virgina in the 1980’s Graham taught classes at various locations, then opened a business in 1991 with her sister in New Jersey where both taught knitting, crocheting and quilting. She is mother of one daughter, a grandmother of four grandsons and a great-grandmother of three great-granddaughters.
