Knitting 2.0

Tue, 06/03/2014 - 6:00pm - 8:00pm

An intermediate knitting class hosted at Rodman Library continues on Tuesday, June 3, at 6:00 p.m. All classes will be held in Rodman Main Auditorium except on June 3, which will be held in the Children’s Programming Room. Taught by Jane Graham, a member of the KnitWits Needlework Circle, the classes continue on four consecutive Tuesdays through June 24. The class is open to new knitters as well as those knitters who want to learn additional skills. New knitters will be working on a scarf and need to bring a pair of size 7 straight needles and one skein of knitting worsted yarn.  Intermediate knitters will have a pair of socks as their project and need to bring a set of double-pointed needles and one skein of knitting worsted yarn.

Graham has been knitting for over 70 years. She is a retired special education teacher who began teaching knitting in the early 1960’s at the former G.C. Murphy Co. located on Main Street in Alliance, OH. After moving to Virgina in the 1980’s Graham taught classes at various locations, then opened a business in 1991 with her sister in New Jersey where both taught knitting, crocheting and quilting. She is mother of one daughter, a grandmother of four grandsons and a great-grandmother of three great-granddaughters.
