Fly High

Primary tabs

Josh Bixler of Flite-Test and Jim Bixler will be presenting to teens a look at the future of aviation on Thursday, September 26, from 3:30-5:00 p.m., as they demonstrate a computer aided drone and miniature airplanes. They will also be discussing current and future careers in aviation, such as flying for utility companies in line inspection, flying for cities in traffic management and obtaining air quality samples, and flying for police surveillance.

Teens will have the chance for a “hands-on” experience as they work a computer simulation flight control and the remote control for the miniature airplanes. A demonstration will be given of an “  Unmanned Aerial System (U.A.S.) ”, also known as a drone, which will fly over Alliance.

This free event is open to all teens, ages 12-18, and will start in Rodman main auditorium, then move outside. No registration is required. For more information on the miniature airplanes and U.A.S., visit flitetest.com or Flight Test - YouTube to see these models soar. Call the library at 330-821-2665, ext. 214 for more information on this or other teen programs.
