Dreaming of freedom

Dr. Kelly Selby, assistant professor of History and Education at Walsh University, will discuss the issues and reactions that led to revolution in America, on Monday, July 2, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Rodman Public Library. She presents a glimpse into how the inhabitants living in the Ohio Country, both indigenous natives and those with European roots who sought freedom on the “frontier”, participated and/or reacted to the growing discontent within the British Colonies in the Revolutionary Era.

Dr. Selby teaches U.S. and Civil War History, Women’s History, and Social Studies Methods. She pursued her research interests in the history of nineteenth-century war and society at Kent State University, earning her Ph.D. in 2008. She is a member of the Ohio CW 150 Advisory Committee and a board member of the Ohio Academy of History.
