Function: A non-profit, social organization comprised of both men and women with strong beliefs in a supreme being. Charitable contributions to the Eastern Star Home in Mt. Vernon, heart and cancer funds are made by this organization each year, as well as, supporting the 32nd Degree Masonic Learning Centers for dyslexic individuals, and ESTARL (Eastern Star Training Awards for Religious Leadership) which is an award given to a student of theology and religious music. Alliance Chapter #296 also supports charities within the community. In addition, we hold many social and fundraising events such as dinners, balls, attend plays, bus trips, scrapbooking crops, and local fairs and festivals. Above all, we support each other and help our members and community in times of need.

The OHMR is a voluntary reserve component of the Ohio National Guard. Their mission is to provide and maintain a trained force of troops, under the exclusive control of the Governor of Ohio, capable of providing administrative, logistical and law enforcement assistance in support of the Ohio National Guard, the National Guard's state mission, and civil authorities.
Enlistment ages are between 17-59 years old. Must be in good health with weight in proportion to height. All applicants must be able to pass police background check.
Unit drills 2 days a month and attends a 1 week Annual Training at Camp Perry Ohio National Guard Base.
