Teens, ages 12-18, gather your friends and come to the main library auditorium on Tuesday, Apr. 22, from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Choose your favorite board games… or card games on hand at the library. Be adventurous. Try something new. Bring your own magic cards and duel it out with your friends. No registration is needed. Snacks and beverages will be offered. Scratch Board CD Clocks

Repurpose those old CDs into a working clock. How? With the use of paint, a scratching tool, a clock mechanism and your imagination, a useless CD can be transformed into an individualized piece of clock art. If you are between the ages of 13-18, join us on Thursday, Mar. 13, from 3:00-5:00 p.m., in RPL’s main auditorium. All teens will be given one blank CD to decorate. The first 15 participants will receive the clock mechanism. Acrylic paint in various colors will be provided. A technique called “scratch art” will be demonstrated.

Teen Movie Night

All teens, ages 13-18, are invited to see a free movie on RPL’s big screen in the auditorium on Wednesday, May 7, at 5:30 p.m. A young woman begins a journey to find her sister whose power to create ice and snow has  trapped their kingdom in an eternal winter. Arm Knitting

Tweens, how would you like to do something that’s fun and different? Madison Gasparik, a middle school student, is going demonstrate how to “Arm Knit” a scarf from very thick yarn just by using your fingers and arms. This class will be on Wednesday, February 26, at 6:30 p.m., at the Branch Library located in the Marketplace Plaza. The types of yarn to bring to this class are “Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick and Quick” or “Loops and Threads Charisma Yarn” in your choice of colors. If you are between the ages of 10 and 15, this is an event you won’t want to miss.

Un-Valentine's Day Party

Teens, are you tired of all the lovie-dovie Valentine’s Day mush? Yes? Join us on Thursday, Feb. 13, from 3 to 5 p.m. as we celebrate Un-Valentine’s Day in the main library’s auditorium. Do black roses, chocolate hearts and cookies with an Un-Valentine’s message sound good? If so, you’ll enjoy crafting roses from black duct tape, molding your own black chocolate heart suckers and decorating heart-shaped sugar cookies with a message.

Teen Movie

All teens, ages 13-18, are invited to see a free movie on RPL’s big screen in the auditorium on Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 5:30 p.m. Humankind is now living on another planet after being forced to escape from Earth. During an asteroid storm a general’s spacecraft has crashed into what is now an inhospitable Earth and his 13 year-old son, who is traveling with him, must cross this ground alone to recover their rescue beacon. Teen Movie Premier

All teens, ages 13-18, are invited to see a free movie on RPL’s big screen in the auditorium on Tuesday, April 1, at 5:30 p.m. A hammer-wielding Norse god has been trying to bring peace to the nine realms. He wishes to return to earth but is forbidden to by his father. In the meantime a woman, who is awaiting the return of this god, gets sucked into a wormhole and finds that an unknown energy has entered her. The movie is rated PG-13. No registration is needed.
