All teens, ages 12-18, are invited to Rodman Public Library on Tuesday, April 2, at 5:30 p.m., for a Just for Teens Movie Night. In this movie a man has played the bad guy in his popular video game for many years. Wanting to change his image, he embarks on an action-packed adventure, which includes holding the fate of the arcade in his hands as he battles against an evil army, and sets out to prove to everyone that he is a true hero with a big heart.
All teens, ages 12-18, gather your friends and come to the Rodman Public Library on Tuesday, Mar. 19, from 3:00-5:00 p.m. The library will host a “Magic the Gathering and More” card game afternoon just for teens in the main auditorium. Alliance native chocolatier, Sharron Springer, will be showing teens, ages 12-18, how to make cool chocolate treats. The program will take place on Thurs., Mar. 28, from 3:30-5:00 p.m., at Rodman Main Library auditorium. Teens who attend will get to use melted chocolate and molds to make their own sweet creations. Participants will get to take their creations home with them at the end of the program. Bring your sweet tooth. No registration is required for this free event. This program will be a demonstration of how to borrow eBooks and magazines from the library. Offered on Wed., March 13, from 3:30-4:30 p.m., in RPL’s Computer Lab, D.J. will show how to get free books and magazines on your smart phone, tablet and eReader just by using your Rodman Library card, the Ohio EBook Project and Zinio. This program is free with no registration.
On Tues., Mar. 12, from 3:30-5:00 p.m. in Rodman Library’s Computer Lab, D.J. will be showing teens how to use the photo editing software Pixlr to edit them-selves into various scenes. Teens, bring your own wacky outfits and props to include in your photo. Use one of the library’s pre-selected backgrounds or, if you like, bring your own digital photo background and we will put you into it. This is a free program with no registration.
The tournament will be held on Thurs., March 14, and will begin promptly at 3:15 p.m. in Rodman’s Main Auditorium. This will be a one-on-one, single elimination tournament played on the xBox 360. Random, current and NBA teams will be selected. Bumping up player stats and using created players will be prohibited. All players who foul out are not allowed to be subbed back in.
On Tuesday, February 12, from 3-5 p.m., Rodman Library will host "Magic the Gathering and More" card game afternoon for teens, ages 12-18. Teens, we want your ideas! On Tuesday, February 19, from 3:30-5:00 p.m. join me, DJ, in the main auditorium at Rodman for a brain-storming session. The library is looking to re-design its young adult section and we want to hear from you. This is your chance to try and get shape the library fro years to come. Come prepared with questions, comments, ideas, and suggestions of what you would like to see in this new section. Pizza will be offered at this meeting.
