Recycle-it Scrapbooking
Submitted by event_admin on Sat, 07/14/2012 - 10:41amTeens, ages 13-18, are invited to create their own summer scrapbook using recycled materials. Terri Snode, a Rodman Library Children’s Department staff member, will be showing teens techniques to transform materials from around the house into a unique scrapbook of their summer experiences. Materials for the scrapbooks will be provided.
Registration is required by Friday, August 24. There is a limit of 20 participants. The program takes place on Friday, August 31, at 1:00 p.m. in the Main Library Auditorium.

Teen Anime

Beginning Tuesday, July 24, from 3:00-5:00 p.m., all teens, ages 13-18, are invited to Rodman Public Library for the showing of the first Anime episodes. Viewed on RPL’s big screen, the episodes feature two brothers who have recklessly defied the Law of Equivalent Exchange and have been plunged into a complicated situation - but the brothers must forge ahead to ultimately obtain the truth.

Creepy Creations
Submitted by site_admin on Wed, 06/13/2012 - 10:44amRodman Library invites teens ages 13-18 to transform themselves into a true “creature of the night”.
Movie makeup expert Kim Alberts will show teens how to transform themselves into the “walking dead”. Once made-up, teens can pose to have their picture taken in front of a specially designed backdrop. Teens will be given a print copy of their photo to take home.
Light Up the Night

A representative from Hot Pots Pottery will be helping teens create their very own night lights by using a technique known as glass fusion. This make-and-take program will be held on Tuesday, July 17, at 3 p.m.
Glass fusing is a glass fabrication technique which involves heating glass in a kiln until it reaches a soft point, which allows the user to manipulate the glass in a variety of ways.

Movie Night

The film series will revolve around Rodman’s “Dream” theme. Each movie will take place at 6 p.m. in the Main Library auditorium. They are free and open to the public.
