Spooky Science at Beech Creek Botanical Garden

Staff from the Rodman Children's Department will be doing storytelling from 6:30-8:30pm as part of the "Spooky Science" program at the Beech Creek Botanical Garden & Nature Preserve. This four-night event is October 19, 20 & 26,27 from 4:00-9:00pm.  Admission is $5 per person. $4 for members. 0-2years: Free. Teen Pumpkin Decorating

What comes to mind when thoughts turn to fall? If it is pumpkins and if you are a teen between the ages of 12-18, you are invited to join us at Rodman Public Library for this unique event on Thursday, October 25, from 3:30-5:00 p.m.

All attendees will be given one pumpkin to carve, paint or just decorate. All carved and decorated pumpkins will then be judged by our library panel for most creative pumpkin and the winner will receive a prize. The pumpkins will then be on display for a week in the library gallery for all patrons to view. 

Movie Night

To make your holidays merry and bright, movie nights have returned to Rodman Public Library. The library will present a series of movies for patrons on Mondays, December 3, 10 and 17. The film series will revolve around a Christmas theme. So, if you are reminiscing about Christmases past and dreaming of a white, snowy holiday, then join us at Rodman for a wonderful time.

Movies shown on December 3 and 17 are not rated. The movie shown on December 10 is rated PG.

On Thursdays, from 3-5 p.m., area teens, ages 13-18, are invited to Rodman Public Library to play their favorite video games on the Xbox 360 with Kinect, Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii and WiiU. Visitors will have the opportunity to play a different game each week. Games with ratings from “E” for Everyone, up to”T” for Teen level, will be offered. Along with the video games, the iPad and Nook are available to teens. The library urges teens to suggest games, books and movies they would like the library to purchase.
