Are you interested in a starting a blog? Maybe you’re just curious about what a blog is? This class will explore some of the blog basics and introduce you to blogging sites, such as Tumblr.

Attendance at Internet Basics or prior experience with using the Internet is preferred.

The basics of reading and sending emails as well as how to attach and open attached files will be explained using a free email account from Google. This class is especially suited to those who do not currently have an email account and are interested in creating one.

Become familiar with Word through an overview of this program and its functions. Learn the basics of word processing, how to copy and paste, cut and paste, insert date, time and page numbers, plus how to format a document and use templates.

Attendance at Windows Basics or prior experience with Windows is preferred.

Electronic Borrowing: Android

Follow along as a library staff member walks you through the electronic borrowing search and download process. Borrowing eBooks through Overdrive or the Axis 360 collection, magazines using Zinio, and movies through Hoopla will be demonstrated. Be sure to bring your library card and tablet with you. Android devices should be set to allow app downloads.

If you plan to follow along, please make sure your device is charged and you know your passwords.

Learn how friends communicate online in 140 words or less by using Twitter. In this class you will learn how to tweet, tag, and message others using the second most popular social media site.

Borrowing through Overdrive with older Kindle models will also be discussed.
