Elephant Storytime with Hot Pots

Children, ages 3-12, are invited to Rodman Branch Library for an Elephant Story Hour on Wednesday, Aug. 19, at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 22, at 11:00 a.m. A story will be read first at the Branch Library, then children and their guardian will proceed to Hot Pots to make a small elephant figurine. A $10.00 fee will be collected for supplies on the day of the program that will be payable to Hot Pots. Snacks will be offered. Registration is required for this event and can be made by stopping in at the Branch or calling 330-821-1313.

Art Class with Miss Terri: O'Keeffe

Children ages 5-8 and 9-13 can sign up to explore the world of Georgia O’Keeffe on Saturday, August 22nd in the Children’s Program Room. The class for ages 5-8 will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. and for ages 9-13 from 2:30-4:00 p.m. Georgia O'Keeffe, (1887-1986),  is a 20th century American painter best known for her flower canvases and southwestern landscapes. Children will recreate art based on O’Keeffe’s images of flowers or southwest desert animal skulls using watercolor or acrylic paints. Advanced registration is required.

Children ages 9-13 can sign up to explore the world of Claude Monet on Saturday, July 11, in the Children’s Program Room. The class for ages 9-13 is from 2:30-4:00 p.m. Slots are still available. French Impressionist artist Claude Monet, (1840-1926), is known for his beautiful nature and water scenes. Children will recreate art based on one of his famous paintings, “Bridge over a Pond of Water Lilies”, using watercolor paper, finger-paint and masking tape. Advanced registration is required.
