Children's Programs

Storytime

Rodman Library Branch will host Storytime for 3-5 year olds. Patrons may attend on Tuesdays, Aug. 4, 11, 18 & 25, from 6:30-7:15 p.m. and Thursdays, Aug. 6, 13, 20 & 27, from 10:30-11:15 a.m. Storytime will resume at the main library on Tuesday, Aug. 25, from 6:30-7:15 p.m., and Thursday, Aug. 27, from 10:30-11:15 a.m. Rodman Branch is located at 1808 West State St. in the Marketplace Plaza. The goal of Storytime is to encourage life-long readers through stories, music, movement and activities. Pre-registration is not required.

Wee Read

Wee Read, a program offered through the Children’s Department, is designed to introduce children to books, fingerplays and music incorporating the six early learning skills. Patrons, ages birth through two years, and their parents or caregivers are invited to Wee Read, Monday evenings at the main library, from 6:30-7:00 p.m. and Wednesday mornings at the main and branch libraries, from 10:30-11:00 a.m. THERE WILL BE NO WEE READ AT THE MAIN LIBRARY ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 5 AND 12, AND MONDAY, AUGUST 10, DUE TO THE USED BOOK SALE. Sessions last 20-30 minutes.

Froggy Storytime with Hot Pots

Children, ages 3-12, are invited to Rodman Branch Library for a Froggy Story Hour on Wednesday, May 20, at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, May 23, at 11:00 a.m. A story will be read first at the Branch Library, then children and their guardian will proceed to Hot Pots to make a ceramic frog. A $10.00 fee will be collected for supplies on the day of the program that will be payable to Hot Pots. Snacks will be offered. Registration is required for this event and can be made by stopping in at the Branch or calling 330-821-1313.

Art Gala

Family and friends are invited to join in the celebration as the Rodman Public Library Children’s Department wraps up its “Summer Art Experience” on Saturday, July 25, with an Art Gala from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Children, ages 5-13, have been working with local art instructors during June and July, creating a wide variety of art pieces.
