Boys, ages 8-11, are invited to meet in the Children’s Department at Rodman Public Library for the Just for Boys’ Book Club. Meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month from 4:15-5:00 p.m., through August 2015 (please note that in August the book club will be held on the third Wednesday due to the Used Book Sale). The next meeting is July 8, and includes a book discussion, games and other activities. The book for the month is The One and Only Ivan, by Katherine Applegate. Children must be able to read on a 4-6 grade reading level.
Rodman Public Library offers children the chance to try their reading skills on local therapy dogs on Fridays, July 10 and 24. These specially trained dogs will “listen” to stories in the Children’s Program Room at the Main Library.
Join us at Rodman Public Library Thursday, July 16, from noon to 1:00 p.m. For children, ages 3 and up, Book F.E.A.S.T. replaces Storytime at the Main Library. Fitting the theme of “Every Hero has Story”, Travis English, a paramedic, is the special guest for this session. Children’s names are entered into a weekly prize drawing at Thursday’s program for every five books checked out. Lunches take place in the main auditorium. Free hot lunches are served at 11:45 a.m.
