Pumpkin Storytime with Hot Pots

Children, ages 3-12, are invited to Rodman Branch Library for a Pumpkin Story Hour on Wednesday, Oct. 22, at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 25, at 11:00 a.m. A story will be read first at the library, then children and their guardian will proceed to Hot Pots to create a ceramic pumpkin bank. A $10.00 fee will be collected for supplies on the day of the program that will be payable to Hot Pots. Snacks will be offered. Registration is required for this event and can be made by stopping in at the Branch or calling 330-821-1313.

Spanish Storytime

Children, ages 5-11, are invited to Rodman Branch Library for Spanish Storytime on Thursday, Oct. 23, at 4:30 p.m. with Dr. Angela Zumbar, who will be leading this story hour. Children and their accompanying adult will enjoy hearing stories, making crafts, and playing games all in Spanish. This program is open to Spanish speakers and those who are interested in the Spanish language. No registration is needed. For more information, call the Branch at 330-821-1313.

Just for Girls Book Club

Girls, ages 8-11, are invited to meet in the Children’s Department at Rodman Public Library for the Just for Girls’ Book Club. Meetings are held the third Wednesday of each month from 4:15-5:00 p.m., through April 2015. The next meeting is April 15, 2015, and includes a book discussion, games and other activities. The book for April is The Doll People by Ann M. Martin Children must be able to read on a 4-6 grade reading level. Participants have a four-week checkout of a selected title one month in advance. Registration is required. Participants need not attend all sessions.

Just for Boys Book Club

Boys, ages 8-11, are invited to meet in the Children’s Department at Rodman Public Library for the Just for Boys’ Book Club. Meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month from 4:15-5:00 p.m., through April 2015. The next meeting is April 8, 2015, and includes a book discussion, games and other activities. The book for the month is The Boys Start the War by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor. Children must be able to read on a 4-6 grade reading level. Participants have afour-week checkout of a selected title one month in advance. Registration is required.
